इस दीवार पर आपका ब्रांड
उन लोगों का अड्डा जिन्हें
हर गाना ज़ुबानी याद है
Your brand on this wall.
A room that already knows every word.

Theka
One person always ends up holding the phone all night at these. It should not be the groom, and it should not be you either.
A bachelor party has a shape that a normal party does not, and the music has to follow it. There is an early stretch where six people are pretending this is a normal evening, a long middle where it stops being one, and a late hour that turns unexpectedly sincere and takes everybody by surprise. Load the set in that order and you do not have to touch it again.
The first hour wants recognisable and mid-tempo. Dus Bahane, Sadi Gali, Ainvayi Ainvayi, Gallan Goodiyaan - things people can talk over and still nod along to. The drinking songs come next, and they are the ones this occasion was built for: Chhote Chhote Peg, Ganpat, Daru Badnaam, Patiala Peg, Party All Night. This is the only party of the year where a song being unsubtle about alcohol is the entire point rather than a risk.
The peak is Punjabi almost every time. Brown Munde, Tauba Tauba, Kala Chashma, Mundian To Bach Ke, Jhoome Jo Pathaan. Then, some time after one, the mood changes on its own without anybody deciding to change it, and what you want ready is Tera Yaar Hoon Main, Yaaron, Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge and Woh Din. Every bachelor party in India ends with four men shouting a friendship song at a man who is leaving. Have it queued.
Two practical notes. If there is a television or a blank wall, run this on the big screen rather than a phone - the videos do half the work and nobody has to keep waking the screen up. And bachelorette sets are not a different genre, whatever the wedding blogs say; the same running order works, with London Thumakda, Nachde Ne Saare, Chamma Chamma and Sheila Ki Jawani weighted higher and the daru block a little shorter.
Start mid-tempo with Dus Bahane and Gallan Goodiyaan, move into the drinking songs - Chhote Chhote Peg, Ganpat, Daru Badnaam, Party All Night - then Punjabi hip-hop at the peak, and finish with friendship songs like Tera Yaar Hoon Main and Yeh Dosti. Theka plays that whole arc without anybody managing it.
The same structure as a bachelor party with a different weighting: London Thumakda, Nachde Ne Saare, Chamma Chamma, Sheila Ki Jawani, Kala Chashma and Aankh Marey up front, and a shorter drinking-song block. Finish with the friendship songs, which land exactly the same way regardless of whose wedding it is.
Use something that runs continuously with no account and no queue to refill, and put it on the largest screen in the room so nobody needs to unlock a phone. Theka, a free bar-themed player, keeps playing in a browser tab for as long as it is open, which means the person who chose the music can stop being the DJ.
